My lovely heroes, villains and anti-heroes of the internet,
Saturday December 4th is my birthday.
Now, there might be some of you wondering how best to celebrate the day where, 26 years ago, I arrived in this world naked, covered in blood and screaming. If I may, I have a suggestion.
Create something for me.
You can do this any number of ways. a comic, a story, a song, a video, a D&D campaign setting, a dance, a beer…whatever you want.
So long as it connects to me somehow. However you want to interpret that, be it by appearance, my photos, my personality or my interests. I’m leaving it entirely up to you. And starting December 4th I will post my lovely gifts up here.
I know this is short notice, so gifts are welcome for the next two weeks.
my e-mail is robin@therobinleblanc.com
Have fun.

This week’s challenge over at Whitechapel was to design a poster for David Lynch on a Spider-Man film. This is my submission.

Yes, I’m in NYC and I wasn’t killed by NYCC…but half my brain IS rotted away after seeing some…ahem. costumes.

I don’t think I’ve actually bothered to do an introduction post, so what the hell. I think it’s time to start.
My name is Robin LeBlanc. I’m 25 and live in Toronto, Canada. At the moment I’m a photographer and seem to be doing fairly well with it. You might have seen my work in a couple of magazines, the Jo HIkk album “The Game” or most likely, just somewhere on the internets.
When I was young I wanted to be an actress and later on I wanted to be a filmmaker. I was educated in the Way Of Film by both my parents and film school, the latter of which kind of crushed my passion for film. I’d like to think that all those movies and instruction taught me to look at things that way I do now, which of course helps in my photography.
I’m a dork. Or a geek. Or a nerd. Or whatever the hell it’s called nowadays. I play Dungeons & Dragons, watch Star Trek and obsess over The Ghostbusters.
My love of music is unmatched. Raised in a Music Business Family (my father is a respected music journalist and my mother a publicist who has had some very interesting acts) I grew up listening to and learning about a wide range of music and have since developed tastes that I like to think are a bit diverse.
I’m human in the sense that I have problems, get depressed, make sometimes rather obvious pleas for attention and/or validation and fuck up from time to time. I have low self-esteem, but admittedly not as low as it was a year ago and certainly not as low as several years ago.
I also completely fucking love my life and think it can only get better.
So that’s me. And you are?

I loved experimenting with fire over the weekend. Don’t worry folks, it was all contained in a BBQ…thing.

As I put my camera away the man in white looked really angry (and frankly, really high) and screamed “DID YOU TAKE MY FUCKIN’ PHOTO?” to which I put my best innocent face on, saying “gosh, no. I was just taking a picture of the sign. I grew up here and wanted the memory”. He nodded and let me pass.
