It’s getting pretty exciting seeing things start to go up on this new site. My demo reel will be coming out here soon enough as well as some of my photography. WordPress.com is proving to be pretty horrible in terms of it’s limitations though. I would have loved to have been able to put up a kind of flash embedded portfolio, but that is forbidden. I think in the future I’ll find a good web host and use wordpress software (thus being able to work with wordpress but not have to follow wordpress rules).
The more I think about the trip to the Folk Alliance Conference in Memphis next week the more excited I get. I’m putting together some business cards since it’s likely that I’ll be meeting people there and I want to get my name out there as quickly and noticeably as possible.
And of course, I’ve been listening to wonderful Memphis music to get ready for the trip. Here’s Hoodoo Lady by Memphis Minnie.
Anyways, I’m going to read a bit of Sorcery by Terry Pratchett, play some Lego Batman and head off to bed.

Nice music.
I disagree on WordPress’ limitations — it’s not perfect but it’s a good tool, miles above that heap of shit Blogger.
Also, flash is a dubious web-designing tool — it works in animation loops, but as an interactive part of a website, it’s often a pain. Newgrounds knows how to use it well (embedded on HTML and CSS, as it should be used), most websites overuse it and turn themselves into an annoying, loading-filled piece of shit.
As a portfolio, though — it could be nice, yeah.
Blog on.
Andre.

Don’t get me wrong. Other than these limitations I really love WordPress. Much more than I have any other blogging software…but I think it would be better to use wordpress software in my own site so I can enable some things that wordpress normally doesn’t allow. As I said, the ability to showcase my photography in a nice, clean way would be ideal. As it stands, I’m probably just going to link to my flickr.
